Amulet Introduction: "Chalong U-bot 2566" Edition (Black-Oxidized Copper)
The front features the revered likeness of Luang Pu Kalong Techawanno crafted in a striking black-oxidized copper finish, depicted standing with his traditional walking staff and surrounded by sacred protective Yant, magical seals, and holy symbols. Below his feet, the Thai script proudly displays his name and title, honoring his lifelong spiritual legacy as a master of Wat Khao Laem.
The rear side features historical significance. The initial auspicious consecration ceremony was held for the first time inside the ordination hall (Ubosot) of Wat Khao Laem by 4 expert magic monks on January 20, 2023. Celebrating this ordination hall is considered extremely important, as it fulfills the steadfast intention of Luang Pu Kalong, who waited over ten years to see the completion of this ordination hall. Therefore, this "Chalong U-bot" sacred amulet edition holds utmost significance for Wat Khao Laem.
Luang Pu Kalong Techawanno (หลวงปู่กาหลง เตชวัณโณ), widely known as Luang Pu Kalong Khiao Kaeo, was a highly revered Thai Buddhist guru monk from Wat Khao Laem in Sa Kaeo Province. He was well-known for his deep practice of meditation, strict ascetic discipline, and esoteric mastery.
Here are key aspects of his life and legacy:
-
Background and Birth: He was born on January 10, 1918 (or 1919 according to certain lunar reckonings), in Pathum Thani Province. He entered the monkhood at the age of 20 and remained a monk for 71 monastic years until his passing.
-
The "Crystal Canine Tooth" (Khiao Kaeo): He derived his famous nickname from a rare physical anomaly—a natural, crystal-like tooth located in the center of his palate. According to tradition, he moved this tooth voluntarily, and devotees believed it symbolized immense spiritual power. When consecrating amulets, he would often touch them to his palate to imbue them with sacred energy.
-
Spiritual Lineage and Powers: Luang Pu Kalong studied under numerous senior masters of his era and was associated with major traditional consecration ceremonies, such as the grand 25th Buddhist Century ceremony. He was widely believed by followers to possess telepathic abilities and immense protective magic.
-
Amulets and Temple Building: He was a prolific creator of sacred amulets (including Roop Lor, Phra Kring, and Lersi talismans). He utilized funds raised from his consecrated items to help construct multiple temple buildings and ordination halls (Ubosot) across various locations during his lifetime.
