This Phra Kaew Buddha (The Emerald Buddha) amulet is released by Wat Phra Kaew temple, located in Bangkok. The Emerald Buddha is adorned with three different sets of gold seasonal costumes, one for the summer, and one for the rainy season, and the third is for the winter season. According to the Buddhist legend, the Emerald Buddha was created by the gods as a gift for a revered monk from the Patalibutra city (today's Patna), in what is now part of northern India. This revered monk had the help of the Hindu gods called Lord Vishnu and Demigod Indra, is the god of the heavens, and the Emerald Buddha image is made, 500 years after the Buddha attained Nirvana. He was said to have been predicted.

Historical sources indicate that a statue in northern Thailand in the Na Kingdom in 1434. The myth tells the story of one discovery that the lightning struck a Chedi in Wat Pa Yia, a (Bamboo Forest Monastery) in the Chang Rai Province, Thailand, and later renamed to Wat Phra Kaew, revealing a Buddha covered in the cement wall. The Buddha was then placed in the abbot's residence, who later noticed that the cement had flaked off, and revealed a green interior. The abbot removed the cement and found a Buddha statue carved from a green precious stone, which became known as Phra Kaew or in English the Emerald Buddha. The use of the word emerald (Kaew) is referred to as the “green colour” of the statue in Thai.

The Emerald Buddha is an image of the meditating Gautama Buddha position seated in the lotus, with green colour and clothed in gold. The image is considered the sacred palladium of Thailand.
